Important Dates and Information
Preschool Screening Dates
Thursday, March 23rd OR Friday, March 24th
The Early Childhood Team of Canterbury Elementary School is pleased to announce that we will conduct Preschool Screenings for 3 and 4 year olds on the above dates for the 2017-2018 school year.
The purpose of this screening is to collect information about each preschooler’s early development in the areas of cognition, communication, motor functioning, and social interaction. This will help us to determine whether your child needs any special services in order to prepare for school success.
The Canterbury School Readiness Council is also accepting applications for preschoolers to be included in the lottery for a possible half day slot for the 2017-18 school year. All children must attend the screening to be included in the lottery (unless they were screened last year). For more information and to make an appointment for the screening, please call 860-546-1040.

The Canterbury Public Schools Safe School Climate Plan is developed and addresses the existence of bullying in its schools. A core component of preventing bullying and creating an environment that is safe for all is the ability for students to anonymously report acts of bullying and teen dating violence to school employees. Students can use the reporting form below or can text information to the school bullying reporting hotline at (401) 992- 4132 or simply write down the information and share with a teacher or administrator. Both online forms of reporting are directed to a school administrator who will follow the procedures and protocols in compliance with the Canterbury Public Schools Safe School Climate Plan.
