Student Registration Information
If you are a new or returning resident to Canterbury and wish to register your child at the school, please bring the following documents to the school:
- Birth certificate or other legal documentation indicating parent/ guardian is the legal custodian of the student.
- Driver’s license with current and correct Canterbury address. *White sticker on back of license acceptable.
- Two original documents showing residency. One must be rent or mortgage agreement and the second can be utility bill or cell phone bill. PO Box or magazine is not acceptable.
The following forms must be completed as well:
- Certificate of Residency Form (Only if you are living with someone – not renting or own your own home)
- Canterbury Public Schools Registration Form
- Daycare Sitter Transportation Request Form
- Canterbury Public Library New Patron Form
- 2019- 20 Emergency Automated Notification Form ((Blackboard System for Emergency Calls and Texting)
Pre K Registration

Kindergarten Registration
It’s Kindergarten Registration time! We will be holding our screenings on April 26, 2024 from 8:30 – 11:30. Please call Carolyn Craig at (860)546-6744 to set up a time to bring your child in for developmental and health screenings. Once you make your appointment, we will send you the forms that need to be filled out and brought in on registration day, including the child’s birth certificate, proof of residency (mortgage/lease statement, utility bill & valid driver’s license) and their health records.
PLEASE NOTE CONNECTICUT’S NEW LAW REGARDING CHILD’S AGE: A kindergarten student MUST turn 5 BEFORE September 1, 2024 to register in kindergarten. If your child’s birthday is after September 1, but before December 31st, you can fill out a waiver request form to have your child assessed for admission to kindergarten.
