We are going to start a new Microsoft Power Point project. Last year we used Power Point to create presentations about the 2006 Olympics! Everyone enjoyed the project last year and did good jobs learning about Power Point.
Our project this time will be even better than last year. You will be given more choices and more freedom to choose your topic. However Mr. Tortolani expects to see even better results than last time. Grading will be much more strict than last year, and you will not be given as much time.
Everyone will present their Power Point presentations to the class as part of their grade. The best Power Points will be voted on and put on the Canterbury School web site.
Next week you will be given very specific instructions on the requirements for the Power Point presentation.
The instructions will include:
Timeline
Goals
What the presentation must include
Grading scale
Power Point topics: It is true; you get to pick your topic for your presentation. But, it must fit into one of the following categories: 1. Country 2. Person
Today’s Goal:
You must right a persuasive essay explaining why you want to choose the place or person for your project. The essay must include your choice in the introductory sentence. Then you must give at least five reasons why you want to be able to research this person or place. Everyone will be given time to present their choice to me today. If you have done a good job explaining, you will be able to use that topic. If not, I will select a topic for you.
