What is the H.U.G.S. (Human Understanding and Growth Services) program at C.E.S.?

The HUGS program focus is school success!! It is a program to help selected students who may benefit from extra support with transitioning in their school environment.

Child Associate, Amy Marsalisi, is a trained professional in education. Working under the supervision of the School Counselor, Psychologist and Art teacher; she will partner with them to address the student’s needs.
All funding is through a State of Connecticut Education Grant. This Education Grant was prepared and written by the CES School Principal, Ms.  Ferguson.

In the program, children meet with the child associate for a 30 minute session once a week. Every effort is made so that this time does not interfere with the child’s academic instruction. During this time, children will be given the opportunity to choose their own activities. This provides them with an opportunity to improve their self-confidence and enhance positive feelings toward school.

For further information call Amy Marsalisi at CES or amarsalisi (at)
