Students bring a nutritional snack from home. Snacks should be limited to items of food that can be consumed in a short period of time. Please do not pack a complete lunch. Milk or juice may be purchased through the school lunch program at a cost of $.25 for juice and $.35 for milk. All money should be sent in an envelope labeled with child's name and what the money is for. During snack time lessons are presented about the food groups and good nutrition, and math concepts in counting, categorizing, and geometry. Snack time is also a time to develop good social skills. Due to many types of food allergies, students are not allowed to share snacks. Parents may send in a special snack for the whole class for birthday celebrations if desired. Please contact the teacher prior to sending in a snack for the class.
